The Centre for Institutional Research and Quality Assurance is committed to its mission of striving for excellence and introducing innovative solutions in the field of quality assurance at the university. Thus, our main mission is to create and maintain the quality of education inside the university and enhance performance in an educational environment characterized by diversity and community participation. Moreover, the Centre demonstrates its commitment to continuous improvements through systematic monitoring and transparency, and review and evaluation of the effectiveness of all aspects of the University’s missions and educational programs.

Vision

Mission

– Upgrading the system of quality assurance and institutional effectiveness, continuously improving the educational and research process, and providing improved plans To Whom It May Concern according to global quality standards.

Objectives

  1. Ensuring that institutional licensing and academic credits are obtained.

  2. Working to enhance the quality of education and performance through the process of continuous improvement.

  3. Maintaining compatibility and harmony with the University’s mission.

  4. Ensuring the proper planning and evaluation of teaching, research, service, management, and academic assignments.

  5. Analysing data collected from different departments as it is a progressive development process.

  6. Ensuring that periodic statistical reports and comparative data are extracted to measure growth and performance.

  7. Dissemination of recommendations/corrective amendments to the relevant departments for implementation in the process of achieving the University’s effectiveness, which is a cyclical process.

  8. Continuous monitoring of the University’s performance in terms of its academic programs, and technical and administrative units to ensure the achievement of stated objectives and outputs.

  9. Comprehensive planning for the evaluation of educational outputs.

Main Tasks

  1. Designing the strategic plan of Al-Wasl University and following up its implementation with academic and administrative units.

  2. Evaluation of performance indicators in the strategic plan.

  3. Quality assurance of performance in the University’s academic and administrative units, and design of reports including improvement plans.

  4. Following up the accreditation index for academic disciplines at the University based on academic accreditation criteria.

  5. Proposing new programs and supervising their initial accreditation by the Academic Accreditation Commission.

  6. Obtaining academic accreditation from the Academic Accreditation Commission of the Ministry of Education for all academic programs at the University.

  7. Obtaining international accreditation for selected academic programs at the University.

  8. Following up on the reports of the accreditation body issued after the visit and taking the necessary action.

  9. Upgrading the University’s status in the ranking of universities locally, regionally, and internationally.

  10. Providing the necessary training to the University’s academic and administrative staff.

  11. Implementing the University’s policies and aspirations to improve the academic staff’s levels.

  12. Monitoring, evaluating, and developing the performance of administrative, technical, and academic units, and developing their improvement plans.

Basic Departments

Quality Assurance Department

This department is responsible for monitoring and reviewing course file reports (CFRs) and program annual reports (PARs) for academic programs. It also evaluates learning outputs and oversees the academic accreditation process.

The most important tasks it does quarterly include:

  • Measuring outputs for academic programs at the University.
  • Designing and following Course File Reports (CFRs).
  • Designing and follow-up of Program Annual Reports (PARs).
  • Collecting Files
  • Reviewing and evaluating performance.
  • Reviewing achievements of PLOs.
  • Implementing questionnaires and issuing reports.

Institutional Research Department

It is responsible for collecting and analyzing data and supporting the evaluation of academic programs with documents collected by the Quality Assurance Department.

The most important actions of this department include:

  • Academic credits.
  • Sending data quarterly to the Centre for Higher Education Data and Statistics (CHEDS).
  • The Centre’s statistical book.
  • The Centre’s annual report.

Academic Credits

All academic programs at Al-Wasl University are accredited by the Academic Accreditation Commission of the Ministry of Education of the United Arab Emirates. They are as follows:
