Overview of the INJAZ Program
Al Wasl University, in cooperation with the Higher Colleges of Technology, launched the INJAZ Program in the Emirate of Dubai on (16/09/2013), and the second branch was opened in the Emirate of Fujairah on (23/02/2014). The program came in response to the “Absher” initiative launched by the late Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, may Allah bless his soul, and with the generous support of Mr. Juma Al Majid, and with the active follow-up of His Excellency – the University Chancellor to prepare and qualify national cadres of female citizens who have a high school qualification to provide them with practical and applied skills required for the labor market.

The program was launched successfully. The number of graduates from the two branches since its inception reached (1760). 

Most of these graduates now occupy important seats in the public and private sectors, not to mention those who joined the Higher Colleges of Technology to obtain a bachelor’s degree within the framework of the encouragement and generous support of Mr. Juma Al Majid by allocating a monthly financial grant of two thousand dirhams to continue their university education.

The program has witnessed a vast improvement in its curricula, such as: (communication skills in Arabic and English, computer skills, mathematics, and other various work-related skills). This improvement ensures the program graduate has sufficient information and skills in her chosen specialization to qualify her for fair competition in the labor market. The specializations include: (Office Management, Human Resources, Customer Service, and Information Technology).

We hope that the graduates of this program will highly achieve, and benefit from training in various institutions and fields to engage in the labor market and meet its requirements.

Program Objectives

The Injaz Work Readiness Program is designed to help you develop the work skills necessary to achieve your career goals. It helps fill the soft skills gap and enables those enrolled in the program to perform better in the work environment since the goal is not only employment but job retention where graduates acquire professional and productive skills and are adaptable to the demands of the labor market. Graduates of INJAZ receive full support from Al Wasl University to secure employment opportunities for graduates. An additional Internship course is designed to suit the career opportunities in both the private and public sectors.

Study system in the program:

  • The duration of the program is one full academic year of two semesters, each of which is 16 weeks including assessments.

  • During the duration of the study, program trainees acquire a set of theoretical knowledge and practical skills related to the work environment in general, and to the functional specialization in particular.

  • Program Trainees undergo an intensive number of specialized courses that suit the labor market.

Training Skills:

First: Training Skills in the First Foundation Semester:

  • Employability skills.

  • Communication skills in English.

  • General math and business math skills.

  • Computer skills.

Second: Knowledge and skills in the second semester of specialization:

The enrolment begins from the beginning of the second semester by choosing one of the following specializations from the business tracks:

  • Personnel Officer.

  • Government tax officer.

  • Sales Supervisor.

Program Specializations

First: Personnel Officer Specialization:

This specialization provides trainees with the knowledge, skills, and competencies necessary for the first stage of employment in the human resources department in companies and bodies under the job title “Personnel Officer”, and the specialization is concerned with providing trainees with the necessary knowledge and skills to achieve the following outputs:

  • Understand the importance of implementing HR policies, following up on recruitment, coordinating appointments, promotions, and performance appraisal.

  • Ensure that employees comply with internal and external labor laws, such as local labor laws and workers’ rights.

  • Follow up the process of processing salaries, incentives, and compensation, and pay attention to the problems of employees and seek to solve them in a way that ensures the comfort of workers and improves the work environment.

  • Identify training needs and design and implement training programs.

  • Prepare the necessary methods and methods to evaluate the performance of employees.

  • Coordinate the reception and orientation of new employees and work to integrate them into the work environment.

Second: Government tax officer:

This specialization provides trainees with the knowledge, skills, and competencies necessary for the first stage of employment in the finance department in companies and bodies under the job title “Government Tax Officer”, and the specialization is concerned with providing trainees with the necessary knowledge and basic skills as follows:

  • Deep knowledge of local tax regulations to examine tax returns, sales invoices, and other documents to determine and audit the amount of taxes and fees paid by individuals and companies, as per the tax regulations governing the UAE such as VAT compliance.

  • Ability to detect errors or discrepancies and be able to review tax returns to ensure accuracy and compliance with applicable laws.

  • Skills to analyze invoices, receipts, and records of commercial expenses and ensure their correct classification between subject and exempt supplies.

  • Ability to report differences and propose the right measures.

  • Familiarity with digital platforms used in submitting tax returns and calculating taxes, such as the ZOHO system for creating and taxing invoices, and the Economic Tax Authority website.

Third: Sales Supervisor Specialization:

This specialization provides trainees with the knowledge, skills, and competencies necessary for the first stage of employment in the sales department in companies and bodies under the job title “Sales Supervisor”, and the specialization is concerned with providing trainees with the knowledge and skills necessary to achieve the following outputs:

  • Knowledge of marketing fundamentals, product life cycle, and marketing strategies.

  • Knowledge of the responsibilities of the sales supervisor in planning, directing, following up and motivating sales teams.

  • Familiarity with financial procedures related to sales such as pricing, profit analysis, discount management, and offers.

  • Directing teams to drive sales.

  • Preparing daily/weekly work plans for delegates and ensure that sales targets are met.

  • Mastering CRM systems and sales performance tracking software.

The specialization semester is followed by a period of 5 weeks of On Job Training (OJT), in addition to 50 hours of volunteering to complete the graduation requirements.

Program Certificate:

Upon the completion of program requirements, the graduate will be awarded a certificate of “Achievement in Qualifying for the Labor Market”. The graduate is also eligible to complete university studies at the Higher Colleges of Technology, provided that she obtains a minimum of (Band 5 Academic IELTS).

To encourage the program to continue enrolling in her university studies, an amount of (2000) dirhams has been allocated per month for each student enrolled in the Higher Colleges of Technology.
