In the name of Allah, the Creator who formed mankind from nothingness, and bestowed knowledge through the pen, enlightening us with what was previously unknown. May Allah’s blessings and peace be upon the esteemed Prophet, the pinnacle of Allah’s creation among nations, and upon his family and companions.

The College of Islamic Studies stands as a guiding light of knowledge, leading the perplexed and uplifting humanity. It serves as the oasis of the Most Generous, embodying the teachings of the Most Merciful Prophet. Here, individuals learn the art of deduction and goal attainment, harmonizing authenticity with modernity and embracing the ethical standards of both science and scholars. The aim is to be a beacon of moderation and compassion, a model of mercy for the world.

The vision and mission of the College originated from Al Wasl University’s strategic vision, fostering moderation, centrism, and tolerance. In 1986, Mr. Juma Al Majid and a dedicated group of Emirati individuals initiated the establishment of the College of Islamic and Arabic Studies. The endeavor received approval from His Highness Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research in the UAE, with Decree No. 53 of 1993 granting the license for higher education.
In 1994, Decree No. 77 equated a bachelor’s degree in Islamic studies to the first university degree in the field. The College, at every juncture, committed to adhering to the Ministry of Education’s instructions, leading to the accreditation of its Islamic Studies program in 2016, subsequently renewed in 2022.
Addressing the societal and knowledge needs in this field, the College sought to establish the Bachelor of Islamic Studies program, becoming the first in the United Arab Emirates to offer such a degree. This initiative fulfilled two crucial aspects for the Emirati community. Firstly, it contributed to the intellectual and educational development of citizens and residents, instilling a moderate understanding of their religion that positively influences peaceful coexistence and national unity under wise leadership. Secondly, it addressed employment requirements in various sectors, both public and private.
