The establishment of the Center for Linguistic and Narrative Studies marks a pivotal turning point in the journey of Al Wasl University, which has been committed since its inception to the advancement of scientific research, knowledge production, dissemination, and constant renewal, by adopting all institutional frameworks, academic means, support resources, and available media to keep pace with the developmental project of Emirati society amidst the changes in the world of knowledge. The university, in its long academic trajectory, has been extremely keen on formulating visions, policies, procedures, and strategic plans to advance scientific research toward excellence, pursuing its ambitious academic goals at the local, regional, and global levels in line with the university’s policy and scientific vision.
The decision to establish the Center for Linguistic and Narrative Studies reflects the university’s policy shift, responding to the evolutionary requirements of the university, and striving tirelessly to institutionalize specialized scientific research, frame and deepen cultural action, guide, and direct accompanying activities in all educational stages, activate effective intellectual, cognitive, and creative streams to enhance the educational process, and enrich academic research achievements to meet the objectives and aspirations of the university’s strategic plan for scientific research.
Since its establishment, the center has adopted a strategic plan and promising objectives derived from the university’s vision, mission, and goals. It seeks to promote linguistic and narrative studies at the university, develop, root, and market them, link them to linguistic and narrative approaches at the Arab and international levels, deepen systematic academic research, attract researchers and experts within scientific partnerships between research centers, specialized laboratories at universities, institutions, scientific and cultural entities, organize regular local and international conferences, and manage a knowledge and creative dialogue within the framework of interactive activities, seminars, and workshops, focusing on the creative narrative achievements in Emirati society.
